The village of Fleet itself is steeped in history. It was originally a private estate belonging to the Mohun family and from the time you drive through the gates which bear the Mohun family arms it becomes clear what a magical place Fleet is to visit and why John Meade Falkener based his novel Moonfleet on this area of Dorset.
